Guillermo was appointed General Creative Director of Y&R Argentina in early 2004. He studied Graphic Design in UBA and started his ad career in Verdino Bates as Art Director, jr. Later he worked in Agulla & Baccetti and in 1997 joined Y&R. After a short time in Vega Olmos Ponce, he re-joined Y&R in 1999 as Art Director where whithin a year, he was appointed Creative Director.
Guillermo has been recognized with national and international awards such as: Cannes, FIAP, London Festival, New York Festival, Clio, British, One Show, El Ojo de Iberoamérica, Gramado, several Lápiz de Oro and Lapiz de Platino, among others.
He has also been invited to be part of the jury in many international and regional festivals: ADC, Clio Awards, D&AD, FIAP, New York Festivals, Gramado, ACHAP, Eagle Awards; El Ojo de Iberoamérica.
This year Y&R Argentina was ranked for its creativity as one of the 10 most-awarded agencies of the world according to the Gunn Report 2006. In this eighth edition of the report, Y&R ended up being the only Argentine agency among the 10 top ten positions.
It is worth mentioning its outstanding participation in Cannes where it achieved the second position in the list of Ibero-American Agencies for the score obtained in the Film category with a Silver Lion and 4 finalists. Adding, also, a bronze Lion in Print advertising.
Being compared with the rest of the festivals, the agency had in the last year an excellent performance: 9 FIAP (Ibero-American Advertising Festival) prizes which established it as the 5th most-awarded agency of the whole Festival, with 2 Golden prizes, 5 Silver prizes and 2 Bronze prizes and 10 finalists. It also obtained 8 bronze prizes in the Clio awards; 1 Golden prize in Montreaux; 2 Silver prizes and 3 bronze prizes in the New York Festivals; 2 golden prizes, 5 silver prizes and 3 bronze prizes at the “Ojo de Iberoamérica” Festival and 19 prizes at the “El Diente” Festival. On the other hand, Y&R obtained the “Martín Fierro” award in the Best advertisement category with “Gloria”, the successful advertisement developed for Quilmes. And it has just been nominated for the seventh year in a row by APTRA (Argentine Television and Radio Journalists Association) for “Players” the advertising spot created by Y&R for its client Repsol YPF within the scope of the Football World Cup of Germany.
Moreover the printed advertisement “Lake” of the campaign “Rabbits” created by Young & Rubicam for Tulipán on the spring day of 2006 has just been chosen to be the image for the cover of the Lürzer’s Archive. This was the first time an Argentine advertisement appears on the cover of this well-known German twice-monthly magazine.
In turn, Y&R Argentina has just entered the Shots Grand Prix, the selection of the most-awarded printed advertisements of the whole world for the past 12 with the campaign “Chords” developed for MTV and the campaign for Paediatric “Actrón” from Bayer. Both campaigns are within the top 100 most awarded printed advertisements of 2006. |
